AfgChat started with a simple observation: the mehfil — the evening gathering where poetry, jokes, arguments and chai flow for hours — didn't survive the journey. We're scattered across Toronto, Hamburg, Istanbul, Melbourne. The group chats are muted. The video calls are for weddings and funerals.
So we built a place, not an app: rooms that stay warm all week and light up when someone takes the stage. A poetry night hosted from Toronto, attended from five time zones. An immigration Q&A where the person who got their PR last year helps the person applying today.
